Activation is the process used to validate the licence for each installation of SapScale.

Why is activation required?

A:
Pocket Programs use the activation procedure to ensure that each installation of SapScale is licenced. This enables us to keep the licence fees lower.

Q:
How is the licence activated ?
|
|
A:
If the PC on which SapScale is installed has access to the internet, activation occurs automatically via a webservice to the Pocket Programs website. If each individual PC does not have internet access, then you can install the Pocket Programs Activation Relayer on a server on your network, and let it handle the activation requests. Alternatively licences can be activated manually by visiting www.pocketprograms.com/licencing

When is the licence activated ?

A:
The licence will be activated when the licence number is first entered into SapScale. Additionally the licence will be reactivated at regular intervals, when a new version of SapScale is installed, or when significant hardware changes have been made to the PC.

Q:
At what interval is the licence reactivated ?
|
|
A:
The standard reactivation period is 3 months. You can request a 12 month reactivation period for PC's which have no internet connection.

Q:
Can I move SapScale from one PC to another ?
|
|
A:
Yes, of course. However, the licence must be removed from the previous PC first. Further, the licence can only be moved between PC's once in each activation period. i.e If the activation period is 3 months, you can move the licence to a new PC as long as the last move was at least 3 months ago.

If the licence is not reactivated, will SapScale cease to function ?

A:
No, however all output to the SAP RFC host will be scrambled
|

Q:
What is the Pocket Programs Activation Relayer ?
|
|
A:
The activation relayer can be used to channel all activation requests through a single computer. This means that only one computer needs to have access to the internet for licence activation. The PCs on which SapScale is installed do not require internet access, they only require TCP network access to the computer on which the activation relayer is installed.
