a full range of settings to control communication with the weighing device using
serial communication.
Even though SapScale
has been designed for use with weighing devices, any equipment that supports serial
communication can be used.
One installation of SapScale
can be used for communication with multiple serial devices.
Most weighing devices transmit the current weight continuously, however SapScale
can also send the device a request .
Incoming data can
be filtered and parsed using SapScale's easy to understand rules.
Either fixed length input
strings can be used, or a termination character. Data cleansing parameters can be
defined and a built in serial port monitor allows the settings to be tested without
the use of further utilities.
SapScale's easy to use
parsing allows the user to define the output data for weight and units using a simple
point-and-click interface. More advanced settings allow for the removal of spaces
and padding of input.
SapScale can also detect
motion on the weighing device and settings include timeouts for movement on the
scale.
